As an upgrade from the cheap stock pickup in my musicmaster I started with some strat pickup flatwork and some alnico 2 slugs.
I wanted to go for something that would clean up nicely and have a bit of that cheap vintage (maxxon/guyatone) guitar vibe so I went with somewhat of an under-wind at around 5.5k ohms and I didn’t wax pot it.
